My now fiancé went in to Christine Marguerite a few months ago to design my engagement ring. He was armed with a few ideas I had given him off of Pinterest, which according to him were all over the map as far as what style I liked. Terry and Natali Many years ago I was fortunate to have inherited my grandmother’s diamond engagement ring. It was missing two ruby baguettes that were originally set on either side of a beautiful diamond, but they had fallen out so long ago that I never saw her ring with them in it. Also there had been a lovely engraved design on the band that was nearly worn away and the ring had never been cleaned in the 60 years my grandmother wore it. I held on to it for decades waiting until I could afford to have the ring restored and resized and to find the right person to do it. When I met and spoke with Linda in her shop I could tell that was an especially talented jewelry and jewelry conservator. Sometimes a person’s work is just what they do and sometimes it is also who they are, this is Linda. I felt she had not only the appropriate skill and experience to do the restoration but also the heart and soul to treat this special ring with the care and caring that was needed. When the work was completed, the ring was restored to it’s former splendor, rubies, engraving and more. When I say it I felt I was seeing it in the way my grandmother must have seen it when she received it almost one hundred years ago. There are no words to fully express my deep appreciation and gratitude for the outstanding word done by Linda, her staff, and colleagues. A work of art restored by true artists. My fiancée and I were above all interested in purchasing something unique for our engagement ring. After shopping in Denver and Boulder and failing to find the perfect ring, we decided to think over our options. Heading to the car, seemingly resigned to selecting a ring without the “wow,” we serendipitously passed Christine Marguerite Designs. We had a vague notion of the kind of ring we wanted, a diamond filigree ring with an octagonal setting, but had not considered going the custom route—I guess we figured it would be too daunting to try. Enter Linda, the proprietress. Upon first meeting Linda, it was difficult not to be infected by her effervescent personality and her obvious passion for her craft. She sold us on the idea of creating something wholly unique through a collaborative process. We would provide her with the general parameters (including our budget), would afford her artistic license in making our joint schematics a reality, and she would seek our approval at all the major stopping points along the road. She guided us through the process with aplomb, and took great pains to address all of our concerns. The final product was stunning: it seemed to capture everything we wanted without us having known we wanted it. Instead of settling for an impersonal rock attached to a hunk of metal, we took a leap of faith and trusted in Linda and her collaborative process, and in the end we received a one-of-a-kind ring forged, in part, by the very partnership which it is meant to symbolize. We are eternally grateful. Some of the most beautiful original jewelry I’ve ever seen! If you want something no one else has, this is the place!
